LET'S BRING AGAIN THE ARK 1Chron. 13:3,4

LET'S BRING AGAIN THE ARK  1Chron. 13:3,4
1Ch 13:3  And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.  1Ch 13:4  And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

The ark of the covenant was a very important piece of furniture that spoke of Christ.  It spoke of the existence of God.  No where in the Bible is the existence of God proven; it is correctly assumed.  Moses assumed and proclaimed Him, Gen. 1:1 "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth."  Human conscience corroborates His being. See. Rom. 2:14, 15, "For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:    Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;"  Man must be a fool to deny Him Ps. 53:1,"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good."  This reminds me of the judge, who when he was petitioned by the athiest to establish a special day for athiests like Jews and Christians had their special days, replied that it was proper for him to so petition, but that they already had their day.  It was April 1st.

With the ark God's presence was practiced.  It was the place where God promised to meet them Ex. 25:22, "And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.  And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel."  Even the contents of the ark spoke of Christ Heb. 9:4 'Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;"

Here the congregation united to do right :3.  It is always good when together people unite to do right.  David led them to bring the ark back in the wrong way.  It was a good thing to do, but it needed to be done in the right way Many today do much the same thing when they substitute doing good works for the atoning work of Jesus Christ.  It was a good thing, however, when the congregation united in verse 4 to do what was right.  See verse 4.
