LIKE FAITH WITH JOSEPH
Gen. 50:25
Joseph experienced some very hard adversities. Yet he believed in Divine Providence. As a young lad, He dreamed a dream indicating that his brethren would bow down to him. He also dreamed that his father and mother would bow to him. Because of this jealousy drove his brothers to cast him in a pit. They intended to kill him. Instead they sold him to some Ishmaelites who came by. The Ishmaelites took him to Egypt and sold him to Pharaoh. Later he lost the favor of the Pharaoh and was cast into prison. Thus we see him as a victim of ill treatment. Then he became a person high in the government of Egypt. Joseph believed God had overruled in his affairs. He also believed that God ordained the affairs of life in order to achieve His purpose to save. Joseph also believed in the covenant God made with Abraham 15:13, 14. He believed in the resurrection. That is why he commanded his bones to be carried to Machpelah. He with Abraham looked for a continuing city.
Let us notice some observations about faith. Faith may not know all the details about God and His ways, but it does believe in a Living God. Faith will hold tenaciously to and derive support and strength from the Gospel Rom. 1:17. Faith does not just believe an orthodox creed. It also believes with the heart or seat of affection Rom. 10:9, 10. Faith esteems the reproach of Christ as greater than riches. Faith consider that God rules to bring about His will. See Chapter 50 and verse 20, "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive."

What an encouragement!
