Have You Seen Him?

SEEING THE INVISIBLE
Col. 1:15

Have you seen Him?  No, In our flesh we cannot see or understand this person nor His message.  See Him in the fact of His deity.   This is manifested in His action of redeeming of His people.  No one but God can redeem us from our sin.  See verse 14.  In verse 16 we see His deity manifested in His creation of things in Heaven, in earth, visible, invisible, thrones, dominions, principalities, powers, and all things.  That deity is further manifested in His control over creation in verse 17.  It is remarkable that the apostle says of Christ in Col. 2:9 "...in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."  Surely we understand the Godhead as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.  Paul says here then that all three are seen bodily in Jesus, Who is the manifested Image of God.

Have you seen Him?  Note the majesty of the Invisible.  He is more than the confusion of Sabellianism.  Sabellianism in simple terms shows God, the Father, as the God of Old Testament times, God the Son a separate God in the days of His life on earth, and God, the Spirit, another God of our day.  Jesus, however, is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Arianism  denied the eternal existance of Christ, but Scripture affirms it.

Athanasias said it well in the following quote:  "We worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in unity; neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Substance. The Godhood of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Ghost is all one, the glory equal, the majesty co-eternal. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father eternal; the Son eternal; and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three but one eternal. So likewise the Father is Almighty; the Son is Almighty; and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not three Almighties, but one Almighty. The Father is God; the Son is God; and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods; but one God. And in this Trinity none is afore, or after another; none is greater or less than another, but co-eternal and co-equal."

May the Good Lord open your eyes to see Him Who is Invisible!
