Heaven

1Ki 8:27  But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

       Heaven is a large place.  Solomon speaks here of the heaven and heaven of heavens.  According   to verse 30 heaven is God's dwelling place.  There He reigns from His throne as recorded in Ps. 11:4.

       Heaven is a place where Christ will reward His saints.  In Matt. 6:20 our Lord commands us to lay up treasures there.  Rewards await those who strive in the service of our Lord according to 1 Cor. 10:25.

       Who will we see there?  There will be multitudes.  They will come from every nation under Heaven according to Rev. 7:9.  All whose names are written there will be there.  See Luke 10:20.  Those who died in the Lord and preceded us into that great place, 1 Thess. 4:16-18.  Best of all we shall see our Blessed, and exalted Lord.  See 1 Pet.3:22 "Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him."

       I am 86 years young, and I have physical limitations.  I don't expect to go tonight, but who knows?  I know, however, that I can't have many more years.  That does not depress me.  Sometimes I seem to get homesick for Heaven.  I look forward to seeing my friends and family who have already transcended to that blessed place.  Most of all I look forward to bowing at Jesus' feet.  Are you ready?
