THE DIVINE PURPOSE OF GOD continued

THE DIVINE PURPOSE OF GOD continued
Act 2:23
"Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God,"
"Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of
God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Act 2:24
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was
not possible that he should be holden of it."

This purpose is also seen in Joseph.  Joseph was one of the twelve sons of Jacob (Israel).  He, a dreamer, was hated by his 11 brothers.  They sold him into slavery in Egypt.  They told their father that he had been slain in the field.  In Egypt he was elevated in position of authority in the government.  His brethren went to Egypt to buy corn.  They did not recognize Joseph.  Joseph demanded they bring their father, and Jacob with his family moved to Egypt.  In the meantime Joseph recognized his brothers and finally revealed himself to them.  When they knew that he knew them, they were afraid, because they expected he would require recompense.  In Gen. 50:19, 20, Joseph, knowing of their fear, said unto them, “…Fear not; for am I in the place of God?  But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”  This is God working His purpose to bring about what He had promised about the nation of Israel.  They must be kept alive so that the Blessed Seed  could come from them.

Then came a new Pharaoh in Egypt who cared not for the Hebrews.  He would have all the boys of Israel killed in order that the nation might be destroyed.  God would not let that happen either.  So, He gave a little boy, named Moses, to a man and woman of the Levites.  His mother hid him for 3 months, and then because she feared to hide him any longer,  she hid him in the bulrushes in the river.  Pharaoh’s daughter came down to take a bath, and she discovered the child.  Moses’ sister was standing by, and Pharaoh’s daughter told the girl to go and get one of the Hebrew women to mother him for her.  The girl went and got her mother.  In the providence of God then Moses was saved from death, sent back home to his mother, mothered by his own mother, while she was paid by Pharaoh’s daughter to take care of him.  This is God working out His plan again.  This same Moses, when he had become of age, was called of God to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt.
What think ye?  Any question or comment?
