READ THE PLUMB LINE

“Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.” Amos 7:7

A plumb line is a tool used to build a structure that is per-pendicular true. It may also be used to test a standing wall to prove it is perpendicular true. Today's emerging church views the wall as true from whatever perspective one may choose.

Let me say emphatically that there must be no departing from the truth of Christ's person. He is forever the virgin born Son of God. Let us never forget that He is as much God as the Father or the Holy Spirit. Yes He is a man, but He is a man Who is God. He is not a Man in Whom God dwells. Every true believer is that. He is not a man Who has been made God. He is God Who became Man, the God-Man. He was in Heaven with God, but He came by way of the virgin's womb to earth clothed in human flesh. No man could see God and live, but He was God veiled off in human flesh. Whatever your view of Christ is; it must be declared true by this plumb line.

There must be no departing from the Revelation of God. The new birth is not just joining a church. It is a revelation of God as He reveals to man Who God Is. By this one is made alive spiritually and is enabled to believe and be justified from all his sins. By revelation He has given us the Bible, the word of God. We are warned to neither add to, nor take from it. That revelation is quick and powerful. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Whatever your view of life is; it must be declared true by this same plumb line. Just as a wall is not true if it does not pass the test of the plumb line, likewise, your belief system is also not true, if it does not pass the test of this plumb line.
