Who is Jesus?

Who is Jesus?
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.    Mark 1:24
There was a man in the synagogue who had an unclean spirit.  He cried out to Jesus that he knew Who He was.  Though He was unclean he did know, as much as man in himself could know, Who Jesus was.  Do you know Who He is?
He is the Messiah come in the flesh.  One of the first errors to develop in the Lord's church was that of the Gnostics.  This doctrine of Gnosticism did not believe that Jesus was real, because He had a material body.  The apostle John attacked that in his second epistle.  In verse 7 of that epistle he said, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.".   John further admonished in verse 10 that, "If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:"  John was speaking of the true doctrine of Christ.
Jesus is the one Man who did no sin in His flesh.  "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:  Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth" 1 Pet. 2:21, 22.
Jesus, the best of men, was more.  He was no less than God.  He was holy from His conception, Luke 1:35.  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”  He was eternal John 1:1, 2, 14.  He is eternally the Almighty Rev. 1:8
Jesus, best of men and no less than God is our Savior.  He is the Destruction of the Devil, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”  Heb. 2:14.  He is our Sacrifice. “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” Heb. 1:3 “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” Heb. 10:12-14.  He is our one and only Mediator Heb. 7:24-27;  "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1 Tim. 2:5.
This, of course does not tell it all, but it will do for now to introduce our Blessed Lord.
