CAN YOU SEE?

CAN YOU SEE?
2Ki 6:17  And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Syria was attacking Israel.  The King of Israel sent for the prophet, Elisha.  Elisha's servant rose early in the morning, and saw the approaching army from Syria.  There was a large host of horses and Chariots.  The servant cried to his master in verse 15, "Alas, my master, how shall we do?"   In verses 16, 17, we read, "And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.  And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."  Elisha prayed God to open his servant's eyes and let him see what God was doing.  God opened his eyes, and he was surprised to see the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.

That leads me to ask, Can you see?  Are you downcast with the evil about us?  Can you see?  Can you see God?  Note Romans 1:19,20, "Because that which may be known of God  is manifest in them; for God hath shewed  it unto them.  For the invisible things of him  from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse."  Nature is not God.  In all of nature, however, we can see the invisible God revealed.  Can you see Him?

Can you see yourself?  See Isaiah 64:6, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."  In God's sight we are all as filthy rags, sinners undone, and depraved.

Can you see the way to God?  It is not in ourselves.  See Jer. 10:23, "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps."  Jesus said, He was the only way to God.  See John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Seek the Lord while He may be found.  I hope you have been or will be blessed with opened eyes to see God, yourself, and the way to God.
